BFRO #3315: Nighttime sighting by mother and son in Lynx, near West Union

The sighting occured around l0 pm at night, welive in a very rural area of Adams County, Ohio,we have a house on 60 very wooded acres. My wifewas sitting a watching TV, as were we all, we havea back window near the TV some l0 feet from wherewe sit, my wife suddenly said that there two eyesstaring at her thru the window. I first thoughtshe was joking, but she wasn't, I got up and wentto the window, which was closed, as it was cold,and opened the window and could not here anythingor see anything, but it was dark. At about the same time as my wife said she saw the eyes, myoldest son was getting up to go outside on ourfront screen deck porch, as I was at the window,my son had just gone out the sliding glass doorto the porch and was lighting a cigarette, as Iturned away from the window, my son, opened thedoor and was yelling for me as he was pointingout the porch to the separate garage buildingthat is next to our house, he dropped his cigarette and stood there looking for a fewseconds and then quickly came into the housesaying that he had just seen a big hairy thinglooking around the corner of the garage in hisdirection. This got us all excited and somewhatscared, I had just had a knee operation so I didnot go outside to investigate, I did however geta gun out and load it. I went onto the porch butI did not here or see anything. I was convincedthat my wife and son had seen the samething, asit could have walked across the back of the houseand garage and come around the corner within thattime frame. My wife described the eyes as veryclose together and a glowing green color and larger than a humans eyes. My son described thecreature as being very dark in color, with thehair very long and hanging down over its face,he couldn't make out any facial features. Ourdeck/porch is some 4 feet raised off the groundwith the garage on the ground, based on my sonsdescription of the height of the head in relationto the basketball hoop that was on the front of the garage, the thing was in the 7-8 feet tallrange. The next day I went out looking for anysigns, I found nothing at the window or behindthe house and garage area at the corner, I walkedacross a grass field that extends out from the side of the garage and did find what appeared to be a faint impression of a very large foot in ahard clay/sand non grassy spot. I measured andcopied the imprint the best I could, I have itsomewhere in a notebook, but do remember it beingsome 16 inches in length and some 10-12 inchesin width across the top, the impression was madealong the weight bearing area's with a large archarea that left no impression, the toes appeared to be small with all leaving the same type ofimpression. This sighting occured in lateDecember, around l0pm at night, and I feel thatthe year was l997 or l998. I also, a year or so before this sighting, beingon the rear deck porch off our master bedroom,also later at night, hear a strange howling soundfar off in the distance, sounding like it was near the top of the ridge some l/4 mile up thehill behind our house. I don't think it was acoyote or dog.

Two witnesses, my wife and son, I saw the footprint impression the next day and I heard thehowling noise. My wife and son were watching TVin our living room.
